Friends Fun Night

We love date nights in the Wilde home... we haven't always been able to have steady Friday night dates though. The best thing we could have done moving to Cleveland was to start doing "Friends Fun Night" with two other families. We stole the name from my brother and it's so nice because then the kids know that date nights are fun for them as well! It's much more fun to tell them that they get to go and play with their friends for 2 hours instead of saying that they're going to the baby-sitters while we go on a date.

Usually we have 5 toddlers and baby Graham. The kids get along super well most of the time. It gets pretty chaotic at times when it's your turn to baby-sit... but the time passes really quickly. These pictures are from last Saturday when we had our turn! The kids loved reading the Christmas books that I picked up from the library earlier that morning. One of their favorite things to do is watch Toy Story 2 and pretend to be Buzz Lightyear at the beginning of the movie. They 'fly' in circles around our main level. One week they ran around in circles for a full hour! They were all so tired when they went home that they went straight to sleep! We recommend Friends Fun Night to anyone with children who needs a steady Friday night date in their lives!

That's so fun! We do that here too with two other couples (4 toddlers and baby Mailee...soon to be 2 more babies added in the mix). Don't you just love date night? Thanks for the idea ...I think we'll be calling it friends fun night from now on too :)

Hi Chel- That really is a nice way to get a date each week. I know with us the time just seems to fly by and before we know it, it's been a month and we haven't had a date. (I think it will get easier once Max is a little older.) I think I'll try to think of some people we could do that with. Nice because it's cheap & fun for the kids.
