So, I was sitting with my kids in church today and I couldn't help but think of how lucky I am to have each one of them. I had a friend who was nice enough to sit and help out with Gracie, since Jeremy was on the stand, so I got to hang out with Lincoln most of the meeting. It was so much fun just to focus on him!
I just had to come home and share some of our favorite things about Lincoln... The picture above and the picture below show how well he is at making a "scared" face! He looks like he's just seen a ghost or something. I love how teachable he is. We've been working on feelings and understanding when someone is hurt, or happy, or sad, or afraid. He's taken to the concept really well and has most of the faces down.
This one is just a crazy Lincoln moment. He was just being silly. We could laugh for hours just listening to him explore with his imagination! One of his favorite games is to pretend there is a lion in the closet or something. In this picture he was pretending to be Boots the monkey, saying "ooh ooh ooh ooh aah aah aah aah!" He get so animated... it's hard not to pretend with him. He definitely brings out the kid in you!
Lincoln is definitely all boy, except for when he wants to be a 'princess'. He loves anything sports, cars, trucks, you name it. One of our favorites is when he throws himself on the ground after saying really silly things like, "doink!" He helps me keep humor in my life. He knows just how to get me to let him do things... he'll say, "how bout we do this.... is that a good idea?" This is a good picture of how he looks after he doesn't get his way. One day when we sent him to timeout he sat there for a minute and then said, "I can't stay in timeout! I'm just too busy!"
He has his own little bedtime routine... daddy usually helps him with it. He brushes his teeth, reads a story, says his prayers, turns on the music and then he's ready for bed. We tend to forget the brushing teeth (funny thing since his daddy is going to be a dentist!) He finds it's a great way to get out of bed... he'll come and say, "ooops... you forgot to brush my teeth... ooops!" He sure loves to brush those teeth!
A few of our other favorite phrases are, "schicken yips" (chicken lips), "I told you... I'm just not frumpy!" (grumpy), "sure ting!" (sure thing), and "I am a strong guy..." He's very protective of his little brother and sister. If we try to discipline, he'll look at us and say, "Hey! Be nice to my sister!"

Ok so I have to admit I have always been drawn to Lincoln. Even when I didn't know everyone very well I always wanted to play with him. I can't believe how much he's grown up in the short time it seems you've been away. Also, I couldn't help seeing your cute kitchen table in some of the pictures...that's adorable! I hope someday I have a house as cute as yours. Tell Lincoln I love him and maybe every once in a while you could show me a picture of me so he at least has some clue who I am.
