------------------------------------------------------
We started the night cutting out cookies Christmas sugar cookies for our refreshments. Then we sang some songs while Jeremy played the guitar. The kids were so funny! I think they sang every single song monotone... singing the exact same note for every word in the songs! And they belted them out pretty loud even when they didn't know the words. They were so sweet...
We had a lesson on the wise men and how they followed the star to get to Jesus. We talked about how we can follow our own 'stars' and come unto Christ through serving others, praying, developing our talents, and participating in the saving ordinances. It was hard to keep the kids attention since they were so happy to be together... but I'm pretty sure Chauncey and Lincoln got a little of what we were teaching them. I hope so anyway!
Next we did the gift exchange. They loved the capes that I made for them! I'm sure they'll put them to good use. I had so much fun making them thinking of those sweet kids.
Chauncey showed off some of his best Batman moves for us...
Then we decorated our sugar cookies. They were tasty! Here are Lincoln and Daddy's finished products...
I love this time of year because I am constantly reminded of all that I am blessed with in my life. The kids and I spent the morning at the Natural History Museum together and I kept finding myself wanting to squeeze each one of them in arms because I am so grateful for each of them! I am so blessed to have such an amazing family. I wouldn't have such an incredible life if Christ hadn't been born in Bethlehem so long ago... if he hadn't grown up and done the things that He did for me. I am grateful that I have this time of year to really pause and reflect on the things that I have in my life that I sometimes take for granted. I am very grateful for the extended family we have out here... aka the West family. I think I take them for granted far too often. Thanks for joining us tonight! We love you!

I like the changes you made to your blog. I can just see you hugging your kids as you described! You are such a great mom! I too, enjoy remembering the great sacrifices that have been made for us as you mentioned... We are so blessed aren't we? I hope one day we can live closer to you and Jeremy so I can see first hand how much fun you have with your kids and family. You are a great example to us!
