Any of my siblings would remember my love for my little ponies. I had quite the collection growing up! My favorite were the little tiny baby ones. They were so cute! I remember that I had a set of twins. And I had this sweet stage that they could dance and twirl on!
What child who grew up in the 80's doesn't remember the smurf's? Saturday morning cartoons were never complete without a dose of those crazy white and blue creatures.
I remember liking Smurfette the best, since she was the only girl...
And who could forget that evil villain Gargamel? Who would want to harm those cute little smurfs? He was always SO scary when I was little. Him and his little cat.
They should bring the smurfs back.
Another favorite was Rainbow Brite. I don't remember the show as much as I remember playing with the dolls out in the playhouse.
I was always so jealous because Missie got the real Rainbow Brite doll and I got stuck with Canary Yellow in all her spiky-hair-fro glory! She just was never quite as cool as the real Rainbow Brite.
Another favorite was Zoobilee Zoo. I remember acting out these with Kyle. I always wanted to be Whazzat Kangaroo because she was pink. I saw an episode of this a few years ago and was reminded of just how screechy and annoying her little voice was!
Talkatoo Cockatoo was always the most annoying... and I was always a little weirded out by Bravo Fox. He was just a little strange. I don't know...
And who could forget Mayor Ben? He was the best little intro-outro guy there was! He always asked how I was doing and answered back that he was "Zoo-sitively Zoo-berific!" Whatever that means....
My all time favorite show would have to be Today's Special. I couldn't get enough of my buddies down at the department store! I loved Jodie and Jeff and all the songs and dances they sang. I always felt so sorry for Jeff whenever he would lose his magic hat and would be frozen until somebody could help him! I remember wondering how he managed to hold so still for so long!
Sam was always fun.... except for when he ate his sardine and jellybean sandwiches! YUCK!
My favorite characters on the show were Muffy and her country cousin Mort. Muffy was SO cool when she would ride her little elevator and drive her little scooter around the store. I was always SO worried that she was going to get caught by somebody. She was the best because she talked in rhyme!
And who could forget the mime lady. She was so sweet in her white outfit, suspenders and signature ponytails! ---------------------------------------------
What are some of your favorite childhood television shows?

Oh my gosh! this was my favorite post so far! I grew up on Smurfs, Zoobelee Zoo, and my all time favorite was also Todays Special. I also remember fighting with my brothers to watch Jem instead of Heman, but since there were 2 of them and 1 of me I lost a lot of the time. I don't remember Muffy looking so fake--I guess I was only 4 though!
