Another proud mommy moment

Lincoln gave his first talk in Primary today! I was SO proud of him... he did such a good job! His topic was on the restoration... we printed off some pictures and colored them and he helped Jeremy write the talk. He wrote about half of it all by himself just by looking at the pictures and telling us what they were!

I was in the back of the Primary room with my Valiants so he had to speak really loudly so that I would be able to hear him. He said the first line a little softly... and not everyone was listening.... so he said it again, really loudly so that everybody could hear. He said, "Today we are going to talk about the restoration." --with lots of emphasis on the word, restoration. It was so cute.

After he was finished, the Primary President told him what a good job he had done and she mentioned that she knew he had practiced a lot because he said most of it all by himself! She even asked me if it would be okay for him to say his talk in the primary program in October because he did such a good job!

There is nothing that makes me more happy and proud to be a mommy than to see my children do well in something. Lincoln does such a good job at remembering things. Especially when it comes to things that we've taught him about the Gospel. He amazes and surprises us all the time with things that he remembers from Family Home Evening or a lesson in Sunbeams. He has memorized the first two articles of faith and has passed them off in Primary by saying them in front of everyone! That takes a lot of courage... we're working on number 3 right now.

He has always been such a good natured little boy, so full of love. At least once a day, he'll look at me (usually when I'm right in the middle of something and think he's just bothering me for a snack or something like that...) He'll get my full attention and then say simply, "Mommy, I love you." I look into those eyes... and I know that is completely sincere and he truly means it. I don't know what I did to deserve such love from an amazing little boy. I am the luckiest mommy in the world. I love you, Lincoln!
