My sweet mom sent us the nicest little Mother's Day surprise in the mail yesterday. She gave us a gift card to McDonald's to have a night out as a family! I thought it was so sweet of her to think of us at a time when we're supposed to think of her! We really enjoyed our trip to McDonald's... we packed up our lunch and headed to Jeremy's favorite park to enjoy it.
We got Lincoln and Gracie kids meals, which is totally against our norm of getting the cheapest thing possible if we venture out for fast food (which is a very rare occurrence for our little family... we just don't have the funds!) We figured it's what Grandma would have gotten for them... so it was like she was with us!
Gracie was loving the little box it came in!
They were so thrilled when they saw their new Shrek dolls in the boxes! I'm surprised we got to eat any of their lunch. It was kind of ironic that everything was Shrek since Grandma introduced the kids to Shrek on our last visit home!
Gracie loved her "schicken nuggets"...
Graham loved the french fries...
Jeremy had to snap a shot with Mr. Sniffles (he sniffles when he gets mad lately... it's so darlin!)

So, YES, I'm glad you got them kids meals. I always have had a hard time with Mother's Day, because I have dwelt on the negative things I've done, and end up feeling really bad that I'm not as good as I could be. This year, I changed my thought process, and it was terrific how much that helped me realize how blessed I am to have been able to experience being a mother. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I just LOVE my kids!!!
Nice! I wish I was there to take them to McD's with you. Watch the prices for airline tickets and make sure to let us know if a REALLY good deal comes along...
