My enrichment calling...

I was called to be on the Enrichment committee early this year and it has been so much fun! We decided to start a bunch of little mid-week activities for our ward since the new guidelines for Enrichment have come out. The leaders of the committee asked me if I would teach a quilting class. I was a little hesitant at first because I am by no means a professional quilter or anything. After 30+ people signed up for it, I was even more intimidated... but, it's been so fun to serve my sisters through this calling! It's been fun to work one on one with the sisters helping them pick their fabric and decide what pattern they're going to do and stuff. They all know that I'm not a perfectionist with my sewing and that there might be mistakes along the way... so that makes my life easier! On Sunday the Bishops wife and her sweet daughters stopped by so that I could help them cut out their fabric and pick a pattern for their quilt. It made me feel so good that they felt comfortable just dropping by without calling or anything ahead of time! I love their family so much. They've been so helpful to us since we've moved here. I am grateful for the friends that we've made out here and for the callings that I've been given in the ward. Each one has helped me to get out of my shell and serve in ways that I've never served before. I'll post pictures of some of the finished quilts as the weeks go on!
