Family Prayer Time...

Lincoln and Gracie are learning to kneel down in a circle with us for family prayers each night. We really got into the habit after Graham was born. We always love it when it's Lincoln's turn to pray because he does such a good job! He has gotten into the habit of saying some lines almost everytime he prays. He always has to bless each member of the family and sometimes he goes on forever. For example, "... Bless Mommy, and Gracie, and Daddy, and baby Fram... and baby Fram and daddy.... and gracie... and lincoln... and mommy and baby Fram.... and daddy... and lincoln.... and gracie... and mommy and Lincoln... and Daddy and Gracie... and Lincoln." We can't help but smile... he just wants all of us to be really blessed! He's picked up on a few of our phrases. He started saying "bless the kids to sleep well." He is always really good to bless the missionaries and the prophet. For awhile he had a hard time remembering to close the prayer right and would sometimes say "in the name of Jesus Christ" in the middle of the prayer. Sometimes he just opens the prayer, says "thank you for this day" and closes it! Tonight he actually said, "... and Gracie's being a stinker stinker..." because she wasn't being reverent during the prayer. I just love to listen to him pray. It makes me feel like we're doing our part as his parents in teaching him basic Gospel principles. I should mention that Gracie-girl is getting really good at saying Amen at the end of the prayers. We sometimes catch her 'praying' to herself when she's playing alone. I love being a mom to such sweet kids!

That is soo funny! Ella does the exact same thingn when she prays...it makes me smile because I know that even if she doesn't appear that she's listening at times during prayer...so does hear what we say. She even blesses the nuggets, fries, and play place....hahahahaha!
