Moonlight on the Mississippi.

Jeremy and his siblings decided to take the rowboat out on the Mississippi our last night in Nauvoo. It ended up being one of Jeremy's favorite parts of our trip. He's going to give me the commentary for the pictures below...
--------------------------------------------------------
Hey. This is Jeremy talking now. This is my first blog. Okay, so you don't care. :) Me and Cameron went out first because Val and Annalisa were still at a performance with mom and dad. The rowboat was kind of broken. Only one of the oars was attached to the boat. So, Cameron used the 'rowboat oar' and I used the 'canoe oar'. We called it our 'row-noe'. It sucked, but it was still lots of fun. This is the black pearl, or so it was called by our neighboring boaters. It was apparently their family reunion. So we decided to make pirate faces in our little boat.
Valerie decided to make a pirate face. It was funny. I'm still laughing about it.
Here are Cameron and Annalisa's pirate faces. Annalisa is a scared pirate. She's probably scared of Cameron hitting her with the oar again. (It happened all night.)
This is my pirate face. I guess I'd make a lousy pirate, because I'm still smiling right now.
There she blows.
Ain't it nice?
I think it was Annalisa who started singing "Shenandoah". Then we sang "Danny Boy" and "And So It Goes". We relived those King's Singers days around the piano during FHE in '99. Then we sang just about every hymn of the restoration. It was sweet. Highlight of my trip. We must have sang for an hour.
---------------------------------------------------------- After the night was over, they came home and Jeremy told us stories about Tamma Durfee, one of our pioneer ancestors. It was a great night filled with the Spirit!

That is SOOO awesome!! One of my very favorite places is right there looking over the Mississippi at the end of Parleys. I sat there with my companion my last zone conference and cranked the radio to some special mission/pioneer songs and just cried and cried.
