carving pumpkins.

We had our annual pumpkin carving FHE last night. The kids have been DYING to 'make faces in their punkins' since we picked them out the first week in October...
Yeah, we like to strip down when we carve our pumpkins... next year we might not since neither child wanted to have anything to do with the goo-i-ness inside their pumpkins. We sure have silly kids! Graham thought this was the coolest thing ever! I loved trying to carve the insides out with the big spoon! His favorite part was sticking the candle in and out... I helped Grace and Graham with their little ones... and Jeremy and Lincoln did the biggest one. Here they are with their finished pumpkins! I can't tell which one is more excited! The kids insisted on coming outside despite the freezing cold... Lincoln opted on his blanket for warmth... Gracie grabbed a place mat!
Lincoln told me I had to put a picture of each pumpkin on here... Here is Grammer's. Here is Gracie's... And here is Lincoln's. He says that "it's too scary to look at!" I agree.

We opted last year to buy plastic ones that light up with a light bulb since our girls were afraid of it all. It was a good investment. They havn't even asked about it this year at all. Maybe next year we will do the real thing again.
