hill cumorah.

We were able to spend some time in the morning at the Hill Cumorah. Wow. It was so neat! The kids loved the monument... we were able to snap a few shots of them. I think they are just about as adorable as they come. It was so neat as parents to sit with them and teach them all about Palmyra and all the amazing things that took place here. Lincoln's face just lit right up when we told him that this was the very hill where Joseph found the golden plates. We are so blessed to be able to visit these sites. I had lots of fun with my Grammers. He's a little small to be able to understand what went on here... but I'm sure he felt the spirit just like we did.
Graham had lots of fun playing peek-a-boo with me using these benches... he would crouch down and then stand up with a huge grin on his face! I had quite the little photo shoot with him while we were there. I'm sure you don't want to see all of them... but this one was too cute not to post! Here's Gracie looking at the Angel Moroni and having a teaching moment with her daddy. She was so sweet all weekend! Such a magnificent monument. It's impossible not to feel the spirit while you are there. It was truly a testimony building experience for me to spend time in so many places where Angels, Prophets, and even Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ once appeared. It was incredible. We found a little trail that led right down to the visitors center. It made us feel right at home since we love our metroparks in Cleveland. It was a fun little hike for us. My favorite part about our visit to the Hill Cumorah was when the Sister Missionary led us into the room where the Christus statue was. She asked the kids who this man was and Graham held his little hands out and got the biggest grin. It brought me to tears because I know that he is still so close to his Savior. He knew exactly who that great man was! Children are just so amazing. I learn from my children every single day that I'm with them!
